How transparent are aid agencies to their citizens? Introducing the Citizen Aid Transparency Dataset

Existing measures of aid transparency overwhelmingly focus on how much information donor agencies are willing to share with the international community, overlooking that is about increasing citizens' access in order improve government accountability. In this article, we present Citizen Aid Transparency Dataset (CATD). Using factor and correlation analysis, show CATD captures a different dimension than existing measures. We also agency varies both within between countries there important quality differences timeliness, breadth, depth accessibility data provided.
